Advanced Games Camp 2014

Are you interested in animation, computers, 3D virtual worlds, or video games? The Digital Convergence Lab at Northern Illinois University is offering a one week summer camp open to students ages 13 to adult (younger students must have attended a prior game lab and get permission from Eric Russell erussell@niu.edu). If you have attended Games Lab before, come back and expand your skills with Unity 3D.

Unity gameParticipants will: 

  • Explore popular video games
  • Learn the essentials of game design
  • Develop a game story
  • Create game characters
  • Invent game goals and rules
  • Storyboard game scenarios
  • Design a game interface
  • Create sound effects

Dates and Time: 

August 11 - 14, 2013, Monday - Thursday from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Location:

Northern Illinois University
Founders Memorial Library
Digital Convergence Lab (DCL) Room 338.
Please come directly to the lab.

Ages:

Students ages 13 - adult may apply. Younger students will need approval of the instructor, Eric Russell, erussell@niu.edu. Some previous game design is highly recommended!

Cost:

Fees for participation in this day camp are $225. Students should bring a sack lunch each day. 

Required Forms:

Once you have completed the online registration, please download and fill out the Required Forms. Click here to view forms. These forms need to be filled out, signed, and submitted prior to the first day of class.
